The FA Cup has delivered another round of surprises, with the semi-final fixtures now officially set.

Leeds United will face Chelsea FC at Wembley after reaching the last four for the first time in 39 years. Leeds booked their spot following a dramatic 4-2 penalty shootout victory over West Ham United after a 2-2 draw.

In the other semi-final, Manchester City will take on Southampton FC, with the latter pulling off a major upset by knocking out Arsenal FC.

Leeds’ qualification brings back memories of their last semi-final appearance in 1987, where they lost to Coventry City. Their only FA Cup triumph remains the 1972 victory, while their upcoming clash with Chelsea also echoes the famous 1970 final, which the London side won after a replay.

Chelsea, eight-time winners of the competition, will be aiming to extend their record, while Leeds look to reach their first final in over five decades.

Both matches are scheduled to be played at Wembley Stadium on the weekend of April 25–26, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to this year’s competition.
