Wizkid, Ayra Starr Win Big at 2026 MOBO Awards

Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Ayra Starr were among the biggest winners at the 2026 MOBO Awards held in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Wizkid won the Best African Music Act award, beating fellow Nigerian stars including Davido, Rema, Shallipopi, Tiwa Savage, and Adekunle Gold.

Ayra Starr also secured a major international win after claiming the Best International Act award, beating global stars such as Cardi B, Gunna, and Kehlani.

British-Nigerian media personality Niko Omilana also emerged as the winner of the Best Media Personality category.

The 2026 edition of the awards ceremony celebrated Black music and culture, with several Nigerian and international stars making the nominees list. Among them were German-Nigerian singer Odeal and British actors Wunmi Mosaku, Damson Idris, Dayo Koleosho, and Cynthia Erivo.

The ceremony, held in Manchester for the first time, recognised achievements across music, film, media, and entertainment while highlighting the growing global influence of African artists.
