Nollywood actor Ray Emodi has announced his departure from the film industry, revealing that traumatic and dangerous experiences on movie sets influenced his decision to step away from acting and focus on music.

In a candid Instagram video, Emodi disclosed that some filming locations posed serious safety risks. He recalled shooting in a violence-prone town where gunshots were audible during production, creating a life-threatening environment for cast and crew.
“I have stopped acting in films. I quit… There was a time I never thought I would say that sentence… but I won’t lie,” he said.

Beyond on-set dangers, Emodi also cited family concerns and personal well-being as factors behind his decision. The combination of safety fears and pressure from loved ones prompted him to reassess his career path.
