Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Tiwa Savage has set social media buzzing after admitting she wouldn’t mind becoming a second wife, as long as the relationship is built on mutual respect and peace.
The singer made the revelation during an appearance on the American podcast Lip Service, where she spoke openly about love, marriage, and respect in relationships.
Tiwa explained that most of the men interested in her are either older or already married. Rather than rejecting the idea, she confessed she could consider such a relationship if it brings harmony.
“I can be a second wife, but I will do it with respect. I believe the first wife will appreciate that and love me because I won’t stress her,” she said.
According to the singer, her focus in any relationship is peace and understanding, not competition or conflict.
Her statement has sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans praised her for being honest and confident about her views, others criticized her for promoting a controversial idea, especially as a public figure admired by many young women.
This isn’t the first time Tiwa’s personal life has drawn attention. She was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun (Tee Billz), and the union ended in 2018. The former couple share a son together.
Tiwa’s remarks have reignited discussions about modern relationships and whether society should accept non-traditional marital arrangements.
The debate continues as fans and critics share divided opinions across social media platforms.
