Nigerian Afropop sensation Adekunle Gold has opened up about the driving force behind his life and career — his family.
In a recent interview on the NotJustOk Podcast, the award-winning singer revealed that his wife, Simi, and their daughter, Adejare, are the most important part of his world, describing them as his “centre” and biggest source of motivation.
According to him, fatherhood has reshaped his values and goals, inspiring him to provide a better life for his daughter than the one he had growing up.
“My family is my centre. I can afford to be a failed musician, not a failed father or man. That’s not negotiable,” he declared.
Adekunle Gold also shared that his song “My Love Is The Same” was inspired by his deep love for his family and his desire to remain a present, responsible father despite the demands of fame.
He emphasized that while success and recognition in music are fulfilling, nothing compares to the responsibility of being a devoted husband and father.
Since marrying fellow singer Simi in 2019, Adekunle Gold has continued to earn admiration for balancing his artistry with his authenticity and commitment to family life.
