The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has debunked a widely circulated recruitment notice online, labelling it “fake” and warning the public not to fall victim to the misinformation.

The forged document, titled “Nigeria Police Force Recruitment Exercise 2025”, falsely claimed that a recruitment drive would begin on September 22, 2025, targeting SSCE, OND, HND, and B.Sc. holders. It detailed supposed application procedures, age limits, physical requirements, and documents needed for registration.

The notice also directed applicants to a website it falsely claimed was the official police recruitment portal.

However, in a post shared via its verified X (formerly Twitter) account, the police clearly marked the notice as fraudulent and urged Nigerians to disregard it.

Similarly, the Police Service Commission (PSC) reiterated on August 30 that no official recruitment has commenced for 2025, cautioning job seekers to wait for official announcements through verified channels.

“The fake notices bear no resemblance to our official communication,” said PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani, stressing that such scams are aimed at misleading desperate job seekers.
