Naira Marley: “It’s time to tell my side of the story”

Two years after the death of his former signee, Mohbad, Nigerian singer Naira Marley has announced plans to publicly share his account of the controversy surrounding the incident.

Mohbad passed away in September 2023, sparking widespread speculations and accusations that linked Naira Marley, music promoter Sam Larry, and Marlian Music to his death.

Although investigations later cleared him, the artiste has now disclosed that he is ready to address the matter personally.

In a post on Tuesday, Marley urged his fans to join him on YouTube, where he intends to narrate his version of events.

He wrote:
“Meet me on YouTube @8pm.
It’s time to tell my side of the story… via Marlian Music Channel.”

His announcement has since triggered mixed reactions online, with some social media users questioning his timing and motives, while others expressed readiness to hear him out.
