Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement to sign Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town in a deal worth £37 million.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Friday that the 21-year-old winger has agreed personal terms with the Premier League side and is set to undergo a medical.
Hutchinson began his career in Chelsea’s youth system before playing for Charlton Athletic and Arsenal, eventually rejoining Chelsea in 2022. However, limited first-team opportunities prompted a loan move to Ipswich for the 2023/24 season, where he scored 10 goals and registered five assists, helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League. His form earned him the EFL Championship Player of the Month award in February 2024.
Ipswich later made the move permanent for a club-record fee, but Hutchinson was unable to save them from relegation last season, managing three league goals.
The England-born forward has represented both England and Jamaica at youth level and was part of the England Under-21 squad that clinched the 2025 UEFA European Championship title.
Forest, who secured seventh place in the league last season to qualify for the Europa League, are set to make Hutchinson one of their headline summer signings. Chelsea are also set to benefit from the deal, with a reported 25% sell-on clause from his transfer to Ipswich.
