Mother Protests as Estranged Husband Returns After 10 Years to Claim Child

A Nigerian woman has gone viral on TikTok after publicly confronting her estranged husband who abandoned her and their child for a decade but suddenly reappeared to claim custody.

In a series of emotional videos, the woman shared moments with her daughter, explaining that the father, who was absent throughout the child’s life, showed up with friends demanding access.

“Go and bring your police! You’re coming after 10 years saying trash,” she shouted in one video. “After 10 years of singlehandedly fending for myself and the child!”

She recounted a troubling history of domestic abuse, claiming she endured beatings while pregnant and received no support from the man’s family. According to her, three weeks after childbirth, she was physically assaulted over an argument about food.

“I started seeing birth water since I was 5 months pregnant because of everyday beating,” she wrote. “Only God and Odunmoluon Hospital saved me and my daughter.”

The story has triggered an outpouring of support online, with TikTok users condemning the man’s actions and encouraging the mother to seek legal protection. Many commenters shared similar experiences, expressing solidarity and outrage.

Some urged her to report the case to human rights organizations or seek legal intervention to prevent the man from accessing the child.
