Rex Okiche is the head of programmes and creative ideation helmsman at City 105.1 FM. With over 14 years of experience in the radio broadcasting and entertainment industries, Rex has earned a reputation as a dynamic media professional with a knack for keeping listeners entertained and audiences growing.

Beyond programming, Rex brings a strong foundation in account strategy and marketing communications. He’s an audiophile who excels in audio production, on-air presentation, voiceover artistry, and social media management. Balancing creativity with a results-driven approach, Rex thrives on tackling new challenges and is always on the lookout for opportunities to innovate and grow.

Before joining City FM, Rex took the reins as Station Manager at Bridge Radio, where he doubled the station’s revenue in just one year and cultivated strong relationships with media agencies, record labels, and advertisers. As Head of Programmes at Bridge Radio, he drove creative programming while adhering to NBC regulations and standards. He produced and hosted shows like Bridge Parliament, The Home Run and Branding your business. He initiated the first reality Radio Talent Contest in Delta State. His career journey also includes crafting compelling shows and producing punchy audio content at Urban Radio, where he made his mark as a versatile presenter and audio producer.

Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a series of professional certifications—including Strategic Leadership from GOTNI Leadership Centre, certification from the Music Business Academy and an Account Strategy Certificate from O2 Academy—Rex embraces creative solutions to content creation and programming.

He currently hosts Parenting Today and the Music Gig on City 1051FM.
