Praise in the City is an annual End-Of-Year family funfair, which hosts on Boxing Day (December 26th). As part of City105.1fm CSR initiative to give back to the community through worship, thanksgiving, sharing of gifts and food to the less privileged and celebrate the Lord during the Christmas season.

It takes place at the Police College grounds Ikeja in a large outdoor venue with ample space for attendees to gather and worship, it features well-known gospel artists who perform a mix of contemporary Christian music, traditional hymns, and praise and worship songs. We also provide fun and games for the children; to ensure that there is something for the whole family.

Being a season associated with giving, City105.1fm uses this event to give back to its listeners and the society at large by organizing the event FREE OF CHARGE TO ALL. The event runs with the payoff: “You don’t have to pay to praise”. It also provides a platform for small business owners to display their products, sell and increase their customer base and revenue.

We use it as an opportunity to showcase, promote, and provide a platform for up and coming and established gospel artistes and have run this event for 8 successive editions and slowly built up a constant attendance rate of 5,000 – 6,500 people, and we will continue to push it to make it a feature on the Christmas calendar.

Every year we strive to elevate the experience of our attendees by making sure we work with  professional event production team to manage logistics, stage design, lighting, sound, and security. We promote the event through various traditional and digital media and are heavily invested in constantly improving our marketing plan for maximum reach and visibility
