Omah Lay has stirred reactions after boldly claiming he is the best Afrobeats artist of his generation.
Speaking on the Nando Leaks podcast, the singer said his strength lies in the art of music-making, even though he admits his visuals may not be his strongest area.
According to him, his creative depth and expression put him ahead of his peers over the past two decades.
He also singled out Burna Boy as the only artist he considers close to his level, while insisting that he still stands above the rest.
Omah Lay added that he feels uncomfortable being grouped with other artists, stressing that he sees himself as “the greatest” in the Afrobeats space.
The statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans praising his confidence, while others see it as a bold but debatable claim given the number of top talents in the industry.
