Bukayo Saka has sparked reactions online after revealing he had never heard of international music icon Celine Dion during a light-hearted conversation with Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Tems.
The moment occurred during the first episode of The Link Up, a new show by Arsenal. While discussing her musical influences, Tems mentioned Celine Dion, prompting Saka to laugh and admit, “I don’t know who that is.”
Tems appeared surprised by the comment and jokingly reacted, saying, “You don’t know who Celine Dion is? Oh my gosh.”
Born in 2001, Saka explained that his music taste is largely influenced by modern Afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B. The football star noted that artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Drake dominate his playlist. He also revealed that he listens to Tems’ music and described music as an important part of his daily life.
Meanwhile, Celine Dion rose to global fame in the 1990s and early 2000s with hit songs such as My Heart Will Go On and Because You Loved Me. With more than 200 million records sold worldwide, she remains one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
