Struggling Wolves dealt a major setback to Liverpool’s title hopes on Tuesday night, edging a dramatic 2–1 victory at Molineux in a thrilling Premier League encounter.

Despite Liverpool controlling large portions of possession in the opening half, Wolves remained compact at the back, with goalkeeper José Sá producing a series of steady saves to frustrate the visitors. Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo all probed for openings, but clear chances were limited.

The breakthrough came in the 78th minute when Rodrigo Gomes capitalised on space inside the box and delicately lifted the ball over advancing goalkeeper Alisson Becker to hand Wolves a 1–0 lead.

Liverpool responded quickly. Five minutes later, Mohamed Salah weaved his way past defenders before firing home from close range to restore parity at 1–1, underlining his importance to the Reds’ attacking play.

Just as the match appeared headed for a draw, Wolves struck in stoppage time. In the 94th minute, André unleashed a long-range effort that took a decisive deflection, wrong-footing Alisson and finding the net to make it 2–1.

Liverpool pushed forward in search of another equaliser, but Virgil van Dijk’s header was comfortably saved by Sá, while Federico Chiesa’s late attempt failed to trouble the Wolves goalkeeper.

Despite six minutes of added time, the visitors could not claw their way back, as Wolves celebrated a crucial win that dents Liverpool’s momentum in the title race.
