Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has spoken about a deeply moving experience following her visit to the Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State, where she provided food supplies, medical items, and welfare support to inmates and children living in the facility.

The actress posted photos and videos from the outreach on her Instagram page, showing her distributing essential materials to incarcerated mothers and their children. She explained that her return to the centre was influenced by lessons she learned during a brief stay there, which reshaped her understanding of life behind bars.

According to Okorie, the visit changed her perception of correctional facilities, teaching her powerful lessons about resilience, hope, and humanity. She said she was particularly touched by the condition of children born in the facility, noting that many lack adequate healthcare and basic welfare.

She revealed that some women were already pregnant before incarceration and gave birth while serving their sentences, stressing that the children deserve proper care, compassion, and equal opportunities.

Okorie added that the donations were funded through her personal resources and foundation, emphasizing that giving back to society remains a core part of her values and faith.
