Reality TV personality and former Big Brother Naija housemate Neo Akpofure has reacted to sexual assault allegations made against him on social media, describing them as false and defamatory.

Through his legal representatives, E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., he issued a formal notice to an X (formerly Twitter) user, Arikan Udoka, who accused him of sexual misconduct dating back to their time at the University of Calabar.

Allegations and response

The accuser claimed the incident occurred while they were students, alleging the encounter was non-consensual despite an earlier casual relationship.
Neo’s legal team firmly denied the claims, calling them false, malicious, and damaging to his reputation.

Legal demands

The notice demands that the accuser:

  • Delete all related posts
  • Publish a public apology and retraction
  • Provide written assurance not to repeat the allegations

His lawyers warned that failure to comply within 48 hours would result in legal action, including a civil lawsuit for defamation under Nigerian law.

Legal statement excerpt

The notice stated that the allegations portray Neo as a sexual offender and have caused reputational harm, emotional distress, and professional damage.

The situation remains a developing story as both parties’ claims continue to generate reactions online.
