Afrobeats star Davido has reacted after losing a massive ₦495 million following the Super Eagles’ defeat to Morocco at the semi-final stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the final ended on Wednesday night after a tense goalless draw that stretched into extra time before Morocco edged the Super Eagles 4–2 on penalties. Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou emerged as the hero of the night, denying Nigeria a place in the final on home soil.

Ahead of the crucial encounter, Davido had openly shared his confidence in the national team, revealing that he placed a $50,000 bet on Nigeria to qualify for the final. According to the singer, the wager would have returned a payout of $348,000 if the Super Eagles had won.

Sharing his betting slip before the match, Davido wrote, “Nigerians to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip,” showing strong belief in the team’s chances.
