Tinubu Celebrates Jonathan’s 68th Birthday, Commends His Democratic Legacy

President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 68th birthday, highlighting his enduring impact on Nigeria’s democratic evolution.

In a statement released on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu joined Jonathan’s family, friends, and political colleagues in celebrating the milestone.

The President lauded Jonathan’s humility and the dignified manner in which he handled leadership responsibilities, particularly during the 2015 presidential election, noting that his statesmanship strengthened Nigeria’s democracy and elevated the nation’s global standing.

Reflecting on their previous interactions, Tinubu acknowledged the guidance and support Jonathan provided during his political journey, especially in 2010 and leading up to the 2011 presidential election.

“Dr. Jonathan’s exemplary leadership continues to inspire many, even as he undertakes significant international diplomatic roles aimed at promoting democratic principles across Africa,” the statement added.

Tinubu concluded by praying for continued good health and prosperity for Jonathan, his wife, Patience, and the entire family.
