United Nigeria Airlines has maintained that its investigation into the altercation involving social media personality VeryDarkMan and comedian Mr Jollof is still ongoing, despite both men releasing public apology videos.

The clash, which occurred onboard a United Nigeria aircraft, caused delays and drew the attention of aviation authorities. PUNCH Online earlier reported that the pair could face possible criminal charges over the disruption.

In a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, Mr Jollof explained his side of the confrontation, stressing that he acted in self-defence and was not a violent person. He apologised to the airline, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, and passengers affected by the delay.

“I sincerely apologise to the NCAA, United Nigeria Airlines, and the passengers. I’m very sorry if I delayed your appointments. This will never happen again,” he said, also adding apologies to his wife and children.

VeryDarkMan, in his own video, accepted responsibility for his behaviour and expressed embarrassment over the incident. While he admitted he could not promise never to get into a fight again, he assured that it would never happen on a plane or in any public setting where others could be inconvenienced.

“A lot of people on that flight had better things to do… some had medical emergencies, some had business deals. My irresponsibility caused that delay and I apologise,” he said.

He also referenced a woman on the flight repeatedly urging him to sit down, acknowledging that many were disappointed by his conduct.

Despite the public remorse from both men, the airline insists it has not reached a conclusion on the matter. When contacted, airline spokesperson Chibuike Uloka said United Nigeria was still reviewing the circumstances.

“Investigations are still ongoing,”
