Adamawa State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Convention Planning Committee, Ahmadu Fintiri, has confirmed that the party’s long-awaited elective convention will take place in Ibadan.

Fintiri made the disclosure on Thursday night during a brief chat with journalists after a closed-door stakeholders’ meeting held at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

The meeting brought together key figures in the party, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, and former Minister of Special Duties Tanimu Turaki, among others.

Speaking to reporters, a visibly upbeat Fintiri said:

“We’ve just concluded a critical stakeholders’ meeting where several important decisions were taken. I can confirm that we are going to Ibadan for our convention, and the convention is sacrosanct.”

Attempts to get further comments from him on internal party matters were unsuccessful, as his security aides ushered him away shortly after the announcement.
