Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy has once again spoken candidly about his love life, admitting that the idea of marriage still scares him.

In a recent chat about relationships, the award-winning producer confessed that while he sometimes feels inspired seeing happy couples online, stories of divorce and broken homes quickly dampen his optimism.

“You will see someone that has worked all his life and now has to split his money because of divorce,” he said with a laugh. “I’m actually scared of those things. The money I have is for my generation.”

Don Jazzy explained that many men lose a significant part of their wealth after divorce, especially when no prenuptial agreement is in place.

‘I’m Single and Taking My Time’

The 41-year-old hitmaker revealed that although he has dated in the past, he is currently single and waiting patiently for the right woman.

“I’ve actually dated before. Right now, I’m single. I’m scared, though God’s time is the best,” he said. “I just want the right person, even though I’m not sure if I’m the right person for somebody’s daughter.”

Fans React to His Confession

Don Jazzy’s openness sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans sympathised with his fears, others teased him over his “Hakimi-level” caution — referring to the footballer who reportedly safeguarded his wealth during his divorce.

One fan commented, “Baba don talk true. These divorce stories dey fear person.”
Another joked, “Na Hakimi package baba wan run be that.”

Despite the banter, many praised the music mogul for his honesty, describing him as “real,” “humble,” and “relatable.”

For now, Don Jazzy seems in no rush to walk down the aisle — and he’s perfectly fine waiting until love feels safe, not risky.
