Why I Joined Chelsea – Garnacho

Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho has revealed why he decided to sign for Chelsea, citing the club’s exciting style of play and the opportunity for growth under manager Enzo Maresca.

Speaking in comments shared by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, the 21-year-old said his decision was largely influenced by Maresca’s vision for the team.

“When I spoke with the club and Maresca, it was important to understand the style of play,” Garnacho said.
“He explained a lot to me during a video call. It’s a big chance to improve as a player in a team like Chelsea.”

Garnacho’s move is part of Chelsea’s ongoing push to strengthen their squad as they aim to compete fiercely in both the Premier League and European competitions this season.

The winger, who joined the Blues from Manchester United for a reported £40 million on a seven-year deal, scored his first goal for the club during their 2–1 loss to newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday.

His performance, despite the defeat, has given fans a glimpse of what he could bring to the team as Maresca continues to rebuild Chelsea into a youthful, high-energy side.
