A Chinese businessman known as Ross Boss has fired back at Nigerian activist Verydarkman (VDM) after being accused of alleged fraud and shady business practices.
VDM had earlier cautioned his followers against doing business with Ross, claiming he found some of his dealings suspicious during their recent trip to China. The activist, who has a massive online following, warned Nigerians not to trust Ross simply because of his personal association with him.
In a detailed video response, Ross defended his reputation, describing VDM’s accusations as false and defamatory. He accused the activist of immaturity and of fabricating claims to tarnish his name.
“You’re too childish, too immature. Ross thought you were a mature person. You personally attack and defame a boss who was willing to pay you and arrange everything for you,” he said.
Ross explained that he has been doing business with Nigerian and other African clients for over eight years without a single fraud accusation. He insisted that the number of clients he gained through VDM’s influence was minimal and that his business success did not depend on their friendship.
“Before knowing you, I did business with Nigerian clients for eight years. They won’t stop working with Ross because of one video from you. None of your supporters have spent over $10,000 with me, and no client would pay extra just because you like or dislike Ross,” he added.
Addressing VDM’s claim that he helped him gain entry to the Canton Fair — one of China’s largest international trade exhibitions — Ross stated that he paid four African associates $100 each for assistance, not because of VDM’s influence.
“Ross pays everyone who helps me with anything. Four African friends took me to the Canton Fair, and I paid each of them $100. Even without your influence, I would still pay $100,” he clarified.
The public exchange has since stirred mixed reactions online, with fans divided between defending VDM’s cautionary stance and questioning the motives behind his accusations.
