Argentina have sealed their place in the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup final after defeating Colombia 1–0 in a tense semi-final clash on Thursday at the Estadio Nacional de Santiago, Chile.
The breakthrough came in the 74th minute when Mateo Silvetti converted a fine assist from Gianluca Prestianni, whose clever run and cross from the right set up the decisive goal.
Colombia’s hopes of a comeback were further dampened after a late red card reduced them to ten men, and Argentina’s defense held firm to secure victory.
The Albicelestes will now face Morocco in Monday’s grand finale. The North Africans made history by reaching their first-ever U-20 World Cup final, joining Ghana and Nigeria as the only African nations to achieve the feat.
Morocco advanced after a dramatic penalty shootout win over France on Wednesday, triumphing 6–5 following a 1–1 draw that lasted 120 minutes at the Elías Figueroa Brande Stadium.
Meanwhile, France and Colombia will battle for third place on Saturday, October 18.
