Nollywood star Adesua Etomi-Wellington has shared details of a terrifying near-death experience she faced earlier this year while in the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons.
Taking to Instagram, the actress revealed that she underwent an emergency surgery in June following what she described as a “horrific incident” that almost claimed her life.
“I could have lost my life in June of this year. The surgery was ironically the least dramatic part of what I went through,” she wrote, expressing profound gratitude to God for saving her.
A day that changed everything
Adesua explained that the ordeal happened during a trip to the UK for two speaking engagements. She noted that if even one small detail had gone differently that day, she might not have survived.
Reflecting on the experience, she said she could “trace God’s hands all over the situation,” acknowledging that divine intervention played a key role in her survival.
The Wedding Party actress said the incident deepened her faith and strengthened her belief that “God is real.”
A renewed sense of purpose
Following her recovery, Adesua encouraged her followers to cherish every moment and lead lives rooted in kindness, peace, and forgiveness.
“Let’s be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted, neither should you,” she advised.
Adesua, who has previously spoken openly about her pregnancy struggles and her husband’s battle with cancer, said her experiences have taught her to live each day with gratitude and purpose.
