Nigerian content creator and activist Lucky Udu has sparked massive reactions online after releasing an emotional video denying allegations that he mismanaged funds linked to veteran singer Sky B.
In the tearful clip, Udu swore on his life that he had never taken anyone’s money for selfish gain.
“These are false accusations! I have never taken what does not belong to me. If I take anybody’s money, may I not live to see tomorrow,” he declared.
Lucky Udu rose to national attention after his viral documentary on Sky B — the “Ma Bebe” crooner — revealed that the once-popular artist was now living in poor conditions in Port Harcourt with his wife and five children, without royalties or even a functional phone.
The revelations drew sympathy and prompted donations for Sky B. However, as funds poured in, allegations began to circulate on social media accusing Udu of mismanaging the money or using Sky B’s plight for clout.
The accusations have since fueled heated debates online, with many Nigerians torn between supporting the activist and questioning his handling of the campaign.
Udu’s defiant statement — “If I take anybody’s money, let me die” — has now become the flashpoint of the controversy. Whether it ultimately clears his name or intensifies scrutiny remains to be seen.
