Bayern Munich have made Atalanta star Ademola Lookman their top deadline-day target after a deal for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson fell through.

Jackson had already arrived in Munich for a medical before Chelsea pulled the plug, citing the need to keep him following Liam Delap’s injury.

According to Sky Sport, Bayern responded with a loan bid for Lookman, including a €28m option to buy, but Atalanta rejected the proposal. The Italian club value the Nigerian forward at closer to €50m.

Lookman, 27, netted 17 goals last season and remains under contract until 2027. He has also attracted interest from Tottenham and Galatasaray, while Inter Milan previously explored a move but were blocked by Atalanta.

With the transfer window closing today, Bayern are expected to return with an improved offer. Failure to secure a deal could leave Lookman facing limited playing time in Bergamo until January.
