The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has today, Monday, August 25, 2025, commenced the in-person phase of its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across Nigeria.
This stage follows the online pre-registration which began on August 18, 2025. According to an update shared on INEC’s official X handle, the physical registration will run Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at INEC state offices and local government area offices nationwide.
INEC outlined those eligible for the exercise as:
New voters aged 18 and above who have never registered.
Citizens who need to replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Registered voters wishing to transfer their registration to a new location.
Individuals requiring updates or corrections to their details, such as name or address.
For Nigerians who already completed the online pre-registration, INEC directed them to visit the nearest INEC office in their state or local government area to finalize the process.
The commission also published the full list of designated registration centres on its official website.
