One dies, Three Injured in Osun Road Accident

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the death of a man, identified as Usman Mohammed, in a road accident that occurred in Ikirun on Tuesday.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, the incident happened near Oja Oba Market along the busy Ikirun–Iree–Ila Road.

Ojelabi explained that a truck loaded with granite lost control due to brake failure, hitting a motorcyclist before veering into a nearby shop. Four people were involved in the crash.

“Sadly, Usman Mohammed, who was standing by the roadside, died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment in hospital,” Ojelabi said.

He urged motorists and other road users to exercise caution and remain safety-conscious, adding that the police will continue to work to protect lives and property in the state.
