Popular Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has made a distressing appeal for help, alleging that her husband, Prince Chibuzor Nwachimelueze, has threatened her life as their marriage begins to unravel just months after their traditional wedding.

The couple had tied the knot on April 13, 2025, in a traditional ceremony held in Okoro’s hometown. However, the actress now says the relationship has turned toxic and dangerous.

In a video that has since gone viral, Okoro tearfully disclosed that she has been living in fear and no longer feels safe in the marriage. “My life matters to me. The shoe I took home is not my size,” she said, speaking metaphorically. “If I don’t speak up now, I don’t know where I’ll end up tomorrow. He’s threatening to kill me, and I can’t live like this anymore.”

Okoro revealed that she had already filed a petition against her husband and involved the police, stressing that her plea is not for sympathy but for protection. According to her, the union has become a source of fear rather than love.

She also claimed that her husband has yet to pay her bride price, prompting her family to recently reach out to him on the matter. Despite their efforts, she said no resolution has been reached.

The actress alleged that her husband entered the marriage believing she was wealthy, drawn in by appearances—including the house she had built prior to their union. “He married me thinking I had a lot of money to spend. I thought it was love, but I quickly saw the direction things were heading,” she said.

Okoro added that since their wedding, there has been no intimacy between them, and even after raising concerns with his family, there was no intervention or support.

She warned her estranged husband to refrain from harming her or her loved ones, stating that her attempts to salvage the relationship have failed.
