Nollywood actor Jigan Baba Oja has responded strongly to social media critic Verydarkman, who alleged that the actor is a member of a secret WhatsApp group created to undermine the quest for justice for the late singer Mohbad.
The controversy began when Verydarkman accused actress Iyabo Ojo of leading a covert group chat allegedly aimed at sabotaging efforts surrounding Mohbad’s case. He went on to name other celebrities, including Jigan, as members of the said group.
Reacting via a TikTok live session, Jigan expressed his frustration and rejected the demand to share any group chat details. He made it clear that he felt no obligation to explain himself to anyone.
“If you like, listen to my explanation, that’s your business. Do I owe you an explanation? No! As long as my conscience is clear, that’s all that matters,” he said.
Later on, Jigan took to Instagram to further respond, apparently addressing Verydarkman indirectly.
He wrote:
“So fast, Nigerians aren’t even asking for evidence anymore! You spent 20 million to push a narrative and now you can’t even post the results! Are we still in the era of slavery? It’s my leg that hurts, not my brain. We’ll see this through to the end. Thank you, Allah. Olujo Mimo! 🙏”
