Wizkid Shares Touching Reason Behind Daughter’s Resemblance to Late Mother

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has emotionally opened up about his daughter’s strong resemblance to his late mother, describing it as a special gift from God.

While performing at his sold-out concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Wizkid took a moment to reflect on the personal loss of his mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. The heartfelt moment came as he paused mid-performance to share with fans how deeply the experience affected him.

The singer explained that following the heartbreak of his mother’s passing, he found comfort in the birth of his daughter, who he says looks just like her.

“God blessed me with a daughter who looks exactly like my mom, and she came to fill my heart with love,” Wizkid told the audience, drawing a warm reaction of cheers and applause.
