Social media has been set abuzz following the emergence of a video showing an elderly man asserting that Nigerian music icon, Wizkid, is his biological son.
The dramatic revelation occurred during a Sunday service at the Revelation of God Fire Ministry, where a pastor reportedly shared a divine vision involving the elderly man. According to the preacher, the man was spiritually surrounded by wealthy figures. In response, the elderly attendee boldly proclaimed that Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun—popularly known as Wizkid—was his son.
“Wizkid na my pikin. Na Balogun marry hin mama. Look me well, I be Wizkid papa,” the man declared with confidence, leaving the congregation in shock.
The video has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions online. While some dismissed the incident as a publicity stunt orchestrated by the church, others speculated about the possibility, citing a perceived resemblance between the man and the Afrobeats star.
Here are some reactions from netizens:
Kadmaye: “This delusional pastor is leading that poor old man astray. Even if it were true, Wizkid would still disown him. Wizkid doesn’t tolerate nonsense. His real parent—Morayo—is gone.”
MemeVoss: “He might be onto something. Wizkid doesn’t exactly look like his known parents.”
Cryptobull_runs: “Only Wizkid’s late mother could’ve confirmed or denied this claim.”
Iam_fizy: “Low-key, he does resemble Wizkid o. Baba, go for what’s yours—we dey your back!”
TerfaTG: “That resemblance is scary. Same head shape, same build. They don’t even need a DNA test. Just hand him a mic and ask him to sing ‘She tell me say’—if he nails it, case closed!”
While the claim remains unverified, the incident has sparked both humor and intrigue across social platforms, with many awaiting an official response from Wizkid or his family.
