The Headies Academy has officially released the full nominations, featuring the best of Nigerian and African music. After two years in the United States, the prestigious awards return to Nigeria, and this year’s ceremony is sure to be an exciting celebration of the biggest hits and groundbreaking albums from 2023 to 2024.

Among the highly anticipated categories is the Next Rated award, which has been claimed by some of the most promising talents in the industry, including OdumoduBlvck, Shallipopi, Ayo Maff, Qing Madi, and Nasboi. These rising stars have made a massive impact on the music scene, and the competition will be fierce.

In addition to the Next Rated nominees, we also have a variety of other categories with fierce competition. The Best R&B Single category sees the likes of Qing Madi and SIMI going head-to-head, while Best Rap Single is packed with bangers from OdumoduBlvck and Ladipoe.

Song of the Year is another hotly contested category, with hits like “Showa” by Kizz Daniel, “Commas” by Ayra Starr, and “Egwu” by Chike & Mohbad vying for the top spot. Plus, we can’t forget about the Album of the Year category, which includes standout projects like “Born in the Wild” by Tems, “Heis” by Rema, and “Work of Art” by Asake.

For fans of African music, there are several regional awards, including Best West African Artist and Best South African Artist, as well as a spotlight on international collaborations in the International Artist of the Year category, featuring artists like Chris Brown and Travis Scott.
