Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has been forced to flee Los Angeles due to the raging wildfires currently wreaking havoc in California. The wildfires, fueled by powerful winds and dry conditions, have devastated large parts of the state, particularly its southern region.
California, known as the entertainment capital of the world, has been grappling with the disaster, and the wildfires have displaced over 137,000 residents, according to BBC reports. Tragically, multiple fatalities have been recorded as well, and the fires continue to burn with no clear end in sight.
Hollywood stars, including Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, Ben Affleck, Eugene Levy, Miles Teller, Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, and Billy Crystal, have all been forced to evacuate their luxurious mansions as the fires approach. Even Nigeria’s reality TV star Morey Faith shared a video of the chaos on her Instagram, expressing her own concerns about the dangerous situation.
In a recent Instagram post, Omotola shared her experience of fleeing her home. She revealed that she had to evacuate in just 20 minutes, and while in transit, she made her way to Abuja, Nigeria, to ensure her safety. She urged her fans to check on their loved ones living in Los Angeles as the crisis continues.
“Touch down Abuja. When my American fans follow me back to Nigeria. I had to evacuate in 20mins. Please, guys stay safe out there. If you got family in LA check on them,” Omotola wrote in her post.
As the fires continue to wreak havoc, many are anxiously awaiting updates on the safety of those still in the affected areas. Omotola’s quick evacuation highlights just how unpredictable and dangerous the situation has become in Southern California.
