Nigerian model Samuel Nwajagu has made history by becoming the first African to win the prestigious Mister International title. The 16th edition of the global pageant took place this past weekend in Bangkok, Thailand, where Nwajagu triumphed over 46 other contestants from around the world.
The Mister International pageant, one of the largest male beauty competitions globally, attracted debutants like Cameroon, England, Benin Republic, and Mali this year. With a total of 47 countries participating, the contest featured a variety of challenges including city tours, cultural attire showcases, formal wear presentations, and interviews where contestants answered thought-provoking questions to demonstrate their intelligence and charisma.
The 23-year-old Nwajagu, who hails from Anambra State, Nigeria, outshone top finalists Nguyễn Mạnh Lân of Vietnam and Glenn Victor Sutanto of Indonesia. The crowning moment saw the 2023 winner, Kim Thitisan Goodburn, hand over the title to Nwajagu, marking a historic moment for Nigeria and Africa at large.
This year’s edition also saw a significant change, as the Mister International Organisation allowed fathers, married, and divorced men to compete for the first time in 16 years.
Nwajagu, who has a passion for fashion, fitness, and wellness, continues to inspire with his historic achievement and his growing influence in the global fashion scene.
