In a recent press release shared on Instagram, BBNaija star Somadina Anyama, better known as Soma, has addressed the allegations of abuse and domestic violence made by his ex-girlfriend. Soma, a two-time contestant on the popular reality show, posted a detailed statement on his Instagram account on Monday, November 25, 2024, in which he denies the accusations and describes them as false.
Soma explained that he had delayed responding to the allegations due to a focus on recovering from a life-threatening situation that had severely affected his health. “I have been slow to respond because I was focused on recovering from a life-threatening situation that challenged my well-being. Unfortunately, while still processing that experience, I have been confronted with these allegations, which have taken a toll on me emotionally and mentally,” he stated in his post.
He continued by strongly denying the accusations, saying, “First and foremost, I want to clearly state the accusations being made against me are false. I have never drugged, assaulted, or harmed anyone, and I deeply condemn any form of abuse. These allegations are completely baseless, and such actions are contrary to my values and the person I strive to be.”
The allegations come from his ex-girlfriend, Hilda, who accused Soma of drugging, beating, and tying her up in April 2024. She had previously posted on X (formerly Twitter) claiming that Soma had not been unfaithful to his recent co-star, Angel Smith, but instead mistreated her. Hilda also mentioned that although they had cut off communication since July, Soma reached out to her in August amidst public controversies involving him on Twitter, where he allegedly tried to implicate her in the accusations.
