Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter, Olanrewaju  Ogunmefun, better known by his stage name Vector, says    his parents supported his passion of becoming a rapper.

In a recent interview, the rapper discussed how his childhood experiences shaped  his resilient mindset and approach to life.

He stated, “My childhood has put me in that ‘whatever the weather, what I want to do is what I do’ mindset. Plus, I was detached and stubborn, like my mum and grandma would say. I was the one that would always ask, ‘Why do the Yoruba people always say the elders are always right?’ and I would  be like, ‘That’s a lie.'”

Vector acknowledged  his parents for their balanced parenting, emphasizing that they never displayed favoritism among their children, including his sister, who has sickle cell disease.
