I Experienced Racial Abuse In France – Oxlade.

Singer Ikuforiji Olaitan, known as Oxlade, has shared how his experience of racial abuse in France inspired the title of his album, “Oxlade From Africa.”

In a recent podcast episode, he noted that this experience awakened his awareness of his African identity and made him realize that African stigma exists. He added that while people in Africa see themselves as normal human beings, those outside the continent often view them as monkeys or strange beings.

The album Oxlade From Africa which blends vintage African sounds with modern Afrobeats was released on 20th of september , 2024 and  features top artists like Flavour,  Dave, Popcaan  and Wandecoal.
