Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, who was a close friend of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has proved claims made by Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, regarding their relationship. In primeboy’s words, Mohbad’s mother accused him during an online interview of having conflicts with her son before his death.

In a statement signed by his lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, Primeboy responded to the allegations. He quoted Mohbad’s mother as claiming that he frequently argued with Mohbad and felt neglected after the singer gained fame. She also allegedly suggested that Primeboy fled after Mohbad’s death to avoid suspicion.

The statement described these claims as defamatory, asserting that they were made delibrately to damage Primeboy’s reputation. He added that the accusations had negatively impacted the support and affection he had received from his fans.

“Your actions were intended to harm our client’s reputation as a rising star in the music industry. The false claims in your interview have seriously affected the love and support he previously enjoyed from his fans and well-wishers worldwide,” the statement read.

Primeboy also warned that he would consider legal action if the allegations were not retracted. Attempts to contact Mohbad’s mother for comment were unsuccessful, as calls and messages were not responded to.

In August, Primeboy’s lawyer, Ogunbona, had raised concerns about new issues that needed clarification from both Wunmi Aloba (Mohbad’s wife) and the police to better understand the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. The coroner adjourned the case for further clarification, with witnesses expected to appear in court at the next hearing.
