US Singer, Diddy Combs, Has Been Arrested In New York

American singer Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested in New York on Monday night by federal agents at a Manhattan hotel, following a grand jury indictment. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, criticized the US Attorney’s Office for pursuing what he called an unfair prosecution. Agnifilo emphasized that Combs had voluntarily come to New York in anticipation of the charges.

“To his credit Mr. Combs has been cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York a week ago in anticipation of these charges.

“These are the acts of an innocent man and he looks forward to clearing his name in court,” he said.

Combs’ arrest comes nearly a year after his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sex trafficking and abuse. The charges Combs is currently facing were not disclosed, but the Southern District of New York confirmed his arrest.
