Nigerian Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has weighed in on the ongoing tension involving Burna Boy and DJ Tunez, using the moment to address what he described as a deeper societal issue.
Speaking during a livestream, the singer condemned the tendency of some African men to equate power with violence and intimidation, noting that such behaviour reflects a harmful mindset.
According to him, many individuals still believe that responding to conflict with force—whether through physical aggression or influence—proves dominance, a notion he strongly rejected.
Seun Kuti argued that this mentality contributes to a broader lack of mutual respect, which in turn fuels unnecessary conflicts within the society.
He further stressed the need for more constructive approaches to resolving disputes, urging a shift away from aggression and towards understanding and respect.
His remarks have since sparked conversations online, especially as debates around the Burna Boy and DJ Tunez incident continue to trend across the entertainment space.
