The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2026 is drawing closer, and several actors and filmmakers have achieved the rare feat of earning major nominations in both 2025 and 2026. The achievement highlights their consistency, versatility, and strong influence in African cinema. 🎬

Actors with consecutive nominations

Lateef Adedimeji remains one of the biggest names on the list after earning another Best Lead Actor nomination for Lisabi: A Legend Is Born. He was also nominated in 2025 for Lisabi: The Uprising, making it two straight years in the same category.

Femi Adebayo also continues his strong run. After winning Best Lead Actor in 2025 for Seven Doors, he returns in 2026 with a Best Supporting Actor nomination for King of Thieves 2.

Gabriel Afolayan is another standout name. He won Best Supporting Actor in 2025 for Inside Life and has now secured another nomination in 2026 for Colours of Fire.

Uzor Arukwe and Femi Branch have also maintained their momentum. Both actors earned nominations in 2025 and returned in 2026 with multiple nominations across different categories, showing their range in both serious drama and commercial films.

Behind-the-scenes talents

The back-to-back recognition is not limited to actors alone. Industry professionals like Hakeem Onilogbo and Tolu Obanro have also earned consecutive nominations for their work in makeup, sound design, and film scoring.

The AMVCA 2026 nominations were officially announced on March 29, while the award ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 9, 2026, in Lagos.
