Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again stirred reactions online after making a bold claim about his place in the music industry.
In a viral video currently circulating on social media, the Zazoo Zeh crooner compared himself to Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, insisting that no artiste comes close to his level of relevance and impact.
While boasting about his success and influence, Portable dismissed claims that any musician is bigger than him.
In his words, he said:
“I’m the newborn Fela. If you say you’re bigger than Fela, then I’m bigger than you. Nobody blow reach me.”
His statement comes amid ongoing online drama involving Seun Kuti, Wizkid, and members of Wizkid FC, further fueling debates around modern-day comparisons to Fela.
Portable’s remarks have generated mixed reactions online. While some fans praised his confidence, others criticized the comparison, describing it as unnecessary and disrespectful to Fela’s legacy.
Reacting, one social media user wrote, “Audacity plenty for this boy,” while another added, “Portable no dey ever disappoint.”
As usual, Portable’s controversial comments have kept him firmly in the spotlight, once again dividing opinions across social media.
