Pastor Chris Okafor, through his legal representatives, has issued a strong warning to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), and several bloggers, demanding that they present evidence to the Nigerian Police to support the allegations made against him or risk facing criminal charges.
Addressing journalists in Lagos, Ife Ajayi, lead partner at Sovereignty LP, described the accusations against the cleric as false, malicious, and part of what he called a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail, and public incitement.
Ajayi explained that the allegations, which resurfaced online in December 2025, were initially made by Doris Ogala and later amplified across blogs and social media platforms without giving Pastor Okafor the opportunity to respond.
According to him, the dispute dates back to late 2024 following a business-related engagement involving Ogala and a third party, from which Pastor Okafor reportedly withdrew after determining that the intended outcome could not be achieved. He said Ogala later alleged that the pastor owed her ₦45 million, a claim the legal team insists has no factual basis.
Ajayi further alleged that the accusations evolved over time, with new claims emerging whenever earlier ones failed to gain public traction. He noted that Ogala had previously been arrested and charged for cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and threats in connection with similar conduct, a matter that was eventually settled out of court.
He added that during those earlier proceedings, there were no allegations of rape, sexual assault, or an affair, stressing that such claims only surfaced after the settlement was allegedly breached.
Following the renewed online allegations, Ajayi said fresh petitions were submitted to the police, leading to Ogala’s arrest and questioning. He also criticised VeryDarkMan and other online platforms for what he described as misuse of their influence.
“You cannot act as the accuser, investigator, prosecutor, and judge at the same time. Serious allegations such as rape or murder must be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities,” Ajayi warned.
He concluded by stating that formal criminal complaints have now been filed against those spreading the allegations, insisting that Doris Ogala, VeryDarkMan, and other involved bloggers must present their evidence to the police or face prosecution.
