Toke Makinwa first Christmas as a mom

Media personality Toke Makinwa is embracing the holiday spirit in a big way as she prepares for her first Christmas as a mother.
The proud mom shared a heartwarming video of her home beautifully decorated for the season, calling this year’s celebration “very personal.”

According to her, Christmas 2025 holds a special place in her heart because it marks both her first Christmas as a mom and her daughter Yakira’s first Christmas.

Toke wrote:

“Santa, please stop here for Yakira…
This Christmas is a very personal one for me.
My first Christmas as a mom, my daughter’s first Christmas.
A new family tradition unlocked.”

She explained that she personally handled the decorating this year, wanting to recreate the family rituals she grew up with. Toke also revealed that her daughter, fondly called Yaya, loves staring at the lights and ornaments she specially ordered from the time her child was born.

The mother of one welcomed baby Yakira Eliana in August at age 40. Last month, she celebrated the 3-month milestone with adorable photos, describing motherhood as a love she never expected.

In November, Toke held a grand church dedication for her daughter, attended by several celebrities including Funke Akindele, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Toyin Abraham, Shade Okoya, Mercy Eke, Ruth Kadiri, Mercy Aigbe, Brodashaggi, and others.

She also got emotional on her podcast, revealing that she prayed to become a mother at 40 — a prayer she said God answered just one month after her birthday.

With her heart full and home sparkling, Toke says this Christmas will be one her new family will always remember.
