Kylian Mbappé has pulled out of the France national team camp after developing inflammation in his right ankle. The French Football Federation confirmed on Friday that the forward has returned to Madrid for further checks.
Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano also shared the update, noting that Mbappé left camp after the medical team detected swelling around the ankle. For now, there’s no clear update on how serious the injury is or whether it will affect his availability for Real Madrid’s next matches.
Before the setback, Mbappé had been in top form—he scored twice in France’s 4–0 win over Ukraine in their World Cup qualifier earlier in the week.
While Les Bleus will continue training without their star attacker, Real Madrid’s medical staff will assess his condition in the coming days to determine the next steps.
Earlier reports noted that Mbappé recently hit the 400-goal mark in his career, though the 26-year-old said he’s focused on much bigger records ahead.
