Stray bullet kills tricycle rider outside Lagos brothel

A tricycle rider has been reportedly killed by a stray bullet outside a brothel in the Badore area of Ajah, Lagos State.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, October 12, 2025, when the victim, whose identity has not been confirmed, visited the brothel to unwind after work. According to eyewitnesses, he later stepped out to buy an item from a nearby shop moments before gunmen stormed the area and began shooting indiscriminately.

A police source told reporters that the attackers, suspected to be cultists, opened fire from a blue Toyota Corolla, and one of the bullets struck the tricycle rider, killing him instantly.

“We were told the man had just finished work that evening and went to relax at the brothel. While he stepped out to buy bottled water, some men believed to be cultists drove past and started shooting aimlessly. One of the bullets hit him, and he died instantly,” the source said.

Another resident, who spoke anonymously, said the gunfire was linked to a cult clash and that the victim was an unintended casualty.

When contacted, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the incident, stating that officers recovered the body the next morning.

“The attention of the police was called to the incident the following morning, and his corpse was found where the shooting occurred. His family has been contacted, and the body has been released for burial,” Adebisi said.

This incident adds to a rising number of cult-related shootings reported across Lagos and nearby states in recent months.
