“Cuppy Doesn’t Like Nigerians” — Ex-Fiancé Ryan Taylor Opens Up on Failed Engagement

British YouTuber and BMX rider Ryan Taylor has spoken candidly about his short-lived engagement to Nigerian DJ and billionaire heiress Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.

Speaking on The Ladders Podcast, the 32-year-old reflected on their whirlwind romance and eventual breakup, revealing what he described as key differences that strained their relationship.

Taylor, who proposed to Cuppy in December 2022 after less than a month of dating, claimed one of their biggest challenges stemmed from her alleged reluctance to work with Nigerians in certain professional settings.

“Is it weird that I told you she didn’t like Nigerians? She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff,” Taylor said during the interview.

He added that there were no contracts or non-disclosure agreements between them, stressing that he walked away with valuable lessons rather than regrets.

“Everything that happens, happens for a reason. I don’t regret it — it was a lesson learned. I realised that money isn’t everything, but not having it definitely is,” he said.

Cuppy and Taylor’s relationship had drawn widespread attention when their engagement went public shortly after meeting at the Gumball 3000 rally in late 2022. However, by mid-2023, fans began speculating about a breakup after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Neither DJ Cuppy nor her team has officially responded to Taylor’s recent comments.
