Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has added yet another milestone to his global success story as his 2021 track “Mood”, featuring BNXN, has officially earned Gold certification in New Zealand.
Recorded Music NZ confirmed that the hit track achieved 7,500 units in combined sales and streams, cementing its impact in the Oceania region.
Originally released as a bonus track on Wizkid’s Made in Lagos (Deluxe Edition), the single has now become Wizkid’s sixth certification in New Zealand and BNXN’s second, reflecting the duo’s growing international presence.
This recognition highlights the expanding global footprint of Afrobeats, with New Zealand joining a growing list of countries where African music is achieving mainstream success.
Wizkid’s latest accolade comes on the back of an already remarkable 2025, in which he has collected 11 new plaques worldwide, further establishing his reputation as a global Afrobeats ambassador.
